Unpopular Culture - Exhibition

Sat 16 May – Sun 5 July Grayson Perry, Turner prize winner and ‘transvestite potter’ has always positioned himself on the margins of the art world. This exhibition offers work selected by him from the Arts Council Collection alongside his new work made in response to the Collection. He has chosen modern British paintings, sculpture and photographs that embody a quiet nostalgia and restraint. Some of the choices are surprising and reflect Perry’s alternative view of British Art.

Dinosuar Coast Events

This year the Dinosaur Coast is back with a bang: events will be running during most school holidays starting in May with a series of launch days. Family Fun Days, Fossil Hunts and Evening Strolls will all use the geology collections from Scarborough Museums Trust and Whitby Museum to explore the 200 million year history of the area. As ever the Dinosaur Coast is a collaboration between Scarborough Museums Trust, North York Moors National Park, Natural England and Whitby Museum.
